New arrival to Dubai gets sad farewell in Dublin

<p>DUBAI, UAE - Irish man Killian Roche arrived in Dubai in the UAE just two weeks ago to start a new life. He had been appointed head of digital for a media agency serving the MENA region.</p><p>His fiancee Emily MacKeogh, a successful model and actress in Ireland, had moved to Dubai as well.</p><p>Flash forward two weeks later and Killian&#39;s fiancee, family and friends were attending his funeral, or what his family dubbed &#39;a celebration of life ceremony,&#39; at Dardistown in Dublin.</p><p>Within hours of arriving in Dubai at the start of his new journey, Killian was out celebrating at a Dubai hotel when he suddenly collapsed and died. It was Saturday 30 March 2019.</p><p>The cause of death of the young man has not been determined but it is understood he suffered a heart attack or died of sudden death syndrome.</p><p>&quot;Adored and forever loved by his parents Brian and Christine, sisters Aisling and Niamh, fianc&eacute;e Emily MacKeogh, best pal Zeb, grandparents Mathew and Marjorie Roche, grandmother Maureen Gorman and his deceased grandad Christopher Gorman, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family friends and colleagues,&quot; said a notice on</p><p>Killian&#39;s family proposed in lieu of flowers that friends donate to Doctors Without Borders and the Kevin Bell Trust (which assists Irish families repatriate loved ones who have died overseas).</p><p>&quot;You made me the happiest I&rsquo;ve ever been, every second of every day,&quot; Killian&#39;s fiancee Emily MacKeogh posted on her Instagram page.</p><p>&quot;You were the better half of my whole, my best friend, my rock, the most intelligent, handsome, funny and loving person I have ever met!&quot;</p><p>&quot;I&rsquo;m never going to stop loving you and I want everyone to know just how amazing you were,&quot; she added.</p><p>Killian was educated at Rockwell College in Tipperary.</p>
